Psychotherapist and Social Worker
Maryland Center for Gender & Intimacy
Libby Nuss, LCSW-C holds a BME in Music Education from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music and an MSW from the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work. Libby is a clinical and macro level social worker whose therapeutic practice is centered on relationship building and is rooted in an anti-oppressive and liberatory social work perspective.
Trained as a doula, Libby is interested in exploring how social work practice can help remedy maternal and infant mortality rates, particularly the impact of racism, fatphobia, queerphobia, and ableism, by providing affirming and accurate information in birth work, and centering the experiences of marginalized groups.
Libby’s practice honors individual experiences, strengths, and hopes while exploring collective traumas from institutional and structural oppression. She aims to collectively and joyfully build bridges towards a more inclusive world through community care, embodied self-love, and self-knowledge.
