Ann Marie Garran is an Associate Professor of Social Work at the University of Connecticut. Her scholarship focuses on the examination of racism, White Supremacy, and microaggressions and their effects on higher education classroom dynamics and with helping professions overall. Her current interests include organizational responses to racism against health care workers, the interplay of racism and the quest for psychological safety, and structural inequality in organizational contexts. Dr. Garran is co-author of Racism in the United States: Implications for the helping professions, which is currently in its 3rd edition (2022).
