Dr. Robert Cosby is Assistant Dean of Administration, an Associate Professor, and Director of the Howard University School of Social Work Multidisciplinary Gerontology Center (MGC). The MGC Center serves in three areas, research, community service and training. Dr. Cosby is a gerontologist and a policy specialist. Dr. Cosby teaches a range of courses from the History and Philosophy of Social Welfare, to Social Welfare Policy to Social Work and the Black Perspective; Community Organization; and Human Services Administration. He has scholarly interests in Older Adults and Social Isolation including the impact of Artificial Intelligence on Older Adults, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Racism; Health Care Disparities and Inequalities. HIV-AIDS, and Spirituality. He has worked at the local, State and Federal levels in Long Term Care, Medicaid, Medicare and Disabilities, Primary Care and Marginalized populations, Adult Protective Services and with over twenty years of experience in health and public health.
