Sarah-Margaret Christy is a third-year MSW/MPH dual degree student at UNC-Chapel Hill, concentrating in direct practice and maternal, child, and family health. Her practice and research interests focus on perinatal mental health, interdisciplinary collaboration, and bridging policy and clinical practice to advance more equitable birth and family health outcomes, particularly for individuals affected by substance use. She has experience in program coordination, research, and care navigation across academic, clinical, and community-based settings. Sarah-Margaret is also a trained birth doula and serves as the program coordinator for UNC Hospital’s Birth Partners volunteer doula program. In her role as a Graduate Student Assistant at the UNC School of Social Work, she supports practicum expansion efforts and serves on the BSW Task Force, contributing to undergraduate curriculum development and program planning.
