MSW Student / Registered Social Worker

Rebecca is completing her Master of Social Work (Advanced) at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver) and is a Registered Social Worker working with Vancouver Coastal Health. Rebecca is undertaking a qualitative methods research project about social workers' experiences of incorporating cultural humility in primary health care teams in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
Rebecca has had experience in both government and nongovernment sectors in Australian and Canadian social work practice areas such health care, mental health and substance use, and community care. Rebecca has interests in health care ethics, cultural safety and humility, identity and inequity, and attachment theory.
Rebecca has a deeply felt commitment to social justice and dignity for all peoples related both to professional values and a broader sense of spirituality.
Rebecca enjoys exploring the beautiful areas in the Pacific North West with her family and the goal is always to be on the look out for a purple sea star! With humility and respect, Rebecca is grateful for a vibrant university neighbourhood community to live in and bring up her children which is situated on traditional, ancestral and unceded Musqueam lands.
