Dr. Julie Clockston (She/Her/Hers) associate professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver and is a proud alumna of the Community College Educational System in Colorado and MSU Denver, where she earned both her BSSW and MSW. She is a past President of The National Association of Social Workers (NASW Colorado 19-22). At NASW, she was also the president of the Association for Successful Parenting (TASP 19-22). At TASP, our mission is: We are Dedicated to Enhancing the Lives of Parents Living with Cognitive Difficulties and Their Families through Education, Advocacy, and Support. At TASP, she is a Lead Trainer, educating professionals who work with parents living with Developmental/Intellectual disabilities (IDD). Her research surrounds various areas regarding individuals living with IDD, and most recently, she has focused on parents living with IDD and the professionals who work with them. Dr. Clockston is appointed as a member of the CSWE Council on Disability and Persons with Disabilities (CDPD). She serves on several other organizations and university boards. She is a social work solopreneur who has worked with individuals living with IDD for 30 years. Dr. Clockston is a mental health normalizer in private practice, specializing in trauma work utilizing EMDR, Brainspotting, and an eclectic variety of treatment modalities. She is a coach, consultant, and forensic skill-based parenting assessor. She especially loves working with students and is a tenure-track university professor, field instructor, doctoral candidate mentor, undergrad research advisor, lecturer, author, and speaker.
