Saadet Durmaz, MSW, is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Indiana University, with a research focus on the intersection of multiple identities and their impact on LGBTQ+ immigrants, particularly in relation to their coming-out experiences. Her work explores how culture and sexuality influence everyday life processes. Durmaz is passionate about feminist social work, integrating her educational background in both social work and feminist theory. She identifies as an intersectional feminist, seeking to understand and address the unique challenges faced by marginalized groups. Her academic journey in the U.S. has deepened her understanding of her own positionalities and enhanced her ability to analyze experiences from a queer perspective.
