Saadet Durmaz is a doctoral student at Indiana University whose research explores how LGBTQ+ immigrants cultivate intimacy, mental well-being, and resilience through digital spaces. Grounded in intersectional, trauma-informed, and liberatory frameworks, their work bridges clinical social work, sexuality studies, and digital intimacy studies to reimagine what inclusive and culturally responsive care can look like. Saadet’s teaching and scholarship are deeply shaped by a commitment to social justice, community care, and transformative pedagogy that centers lived experience and collective healing.
