Jeffrey Steen, PhD, LCSW, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts. For the past 25 years, he has engaged in behavioral health practice, teaching, and research focused on substance use, harm reduction, and recovery. He currently holds grants that allow him to provide training and research in his areas of interest, such as a qualitative study that is assessing provider readiness and the recommendations of people who use drugs, specifically related to the anticipated implementation of safe consumption sites in Massachusetts. His co-edited textbook, Clinical Practice with Clients with Substance Use Disorders, will be published by Guilford Press in 2026. Jeffrey is co-chair of the Addictions Track at APM.
