MSW Practicum Education Coordinator/Senior Lecturer

Professor Johnson currently serves both as MSW Practicum Education Coordinator and Senior Lecturer in the School of Social Work at North Carolina State University. Professor Johnson has over twenty-five years of experience in community mental health working with underserved under-privileged communities. Additionally, Professor Johnson has a background in Child Welfare serving children and families through foster care. Professor Johnson is actively engaged with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), the accrediting body for Social Work Education Programs. Professor Johnson believes that futures can be shifted progressively with equity as a guide, innovation as its tool and empathy at the foundation. She is a member of the Social Work Coalition on North Carolina Workforce Development where her voice is valued for advancing the future of the Social Work workforce. Professor Johnson is committed to collaborative work that is equity minded and gives a voice to the unheard. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical School with research interests in carceral populations.
