Channel Lowery, PhD student, MSW, LGSW, is a doctoral student in the School of Social Work at the University of Minnesota. Originally from Pennsylvania, Channel has been in the field of social work for ten years. Her practice experience has been in the community around housing, community integration, and mental health services. Channel also has experience as an international educator working with displaced youth in Colombia. She holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's in social work from the Millersville University of Pennsylvania. Channel is passionate about the health and wellness of human service professionals, especially from BIPOC communities. As a practitioner, Channel's work seeks to change and disrupt systems of oppression and domination by understanding and incorporating the diversity of thought and practice into micro and macro systems.
