Dr. Kala Chakradhar is a licensed clinical social worker in Kentucky and Massachusetts, USA as well as Professor Emerita (social work), Murray State University, KY. Her teaching focused on mental health, health care and substance use issues. She currently practices at a community mental health center and supervises new clinicians. She believes in blending practice and teaching which is central to a dynamic profession like social work. Research, substance use prevention and treatment, mental health and emerging social issues like immigration, human trafficking, peace building are her teaching foci. She currently co-chairs for the Council on Global Social Issues, reviews for social work journals, and serves community partners, besides others. She is also a 2017 Rotary Peace Fellow.
