Dr. Nafees Alam is an award-winning professor specializing in nonprofit program evaluation and macro practice. Before academia, he worked in Wall Street’s financial sector for over seven years. Dr. Alam’s research agenda is self-determination in sport social work with a secondary focus on viewpoint diversity, open inquiry, and constructive disagreement in higher education. He has several publications and has presented at conferences worldwide, including four keynotes. He aims to disseminate ideas through many public platforms as a contributor to the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, Heterodox Academy, Inside Sources, Psychology Today, Real Clear Education, Open Therapy Institute, ProSocial Workers, and the Institute for Liberal Values. He is passionate about global education through technology, teaching and designing online courses taught globally, along with his YouTube channel and Podcast geared toward an international academic audience.
Outside academia, Dr. Alam is a fitness model, actor, and super heavyweight boxer registered with USA Boxing. He was also a collegiate boxing and youth football coach registered with USA Football, aligning with his experience playing tight end as a semi-professional football player. He was elected to the Special Olympics Board of Directors and designed courses related to finance, technology, fitness/nutrition, self-esteem, and healthy friendships for local homeless shelters, winning the Community Partner Award. He prioritizes humanitarian and philanthropic investments as the founder of several international scholarships, including the Doctor Nafees Alam Scholarship.
