Candice Sorapuru, LCSW-BACS, is a licensed social worker with over 20 years of professional experience. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Tulane University School of Social Work. She is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Social Work program at the University of St. Thomas. Her research agenda focuses on anti-racist social work education and practices.
Candice's career has been marked by a diverse range of roles in the social work field, including criminal justice, mental health, substance abuse, children and families, private practice, and administration. Her extensive training and certifications in evidence-based therapies further highlight her versatility.
She is the Co-Founder and Director of Clinical Services at Innovative Approaches Counseling Center, LLP. She also serves as an Adjunct Instructor at Tulane University School of Social Work and a Clinical Consultant for Orleans Parish Criminal Court, Drug Court, and the Louisiana Department of Education.
Her expertise extends beyond direct practice; she has presented at local, state, and national levels. In 2024, Candice received the prestigious National DSW Award for Social Justice and Social Leadership, recognizing her significant impact on the field.
She is a native New Orleanian and balances her professional commitments with her personal life as a married mother of three.
