Dr. Sarah Taylor, PhD, MSW, is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Social Work at California State University, East Bay (CSUEB). She is also a Founding Co-Director of the Center for Disability Justice Research: Health Equity, Education, and Creativity. Dr. Taylor recently co-edited a special issue of the Journal of Sociology and Social Welfare on Disability Justice in Social Work. She also serves as a lead faculty for Think by the Bay, an inclusive post-secondary education program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and is a key collaborator on an education and outreach project on Supported Decision Making funded by the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities. Dr. Taylor's leadership extends to her role as President of the California Association of Deans and Directors of Social Work (CADD), and board membership at Ala Costa Centers, a nonprofit organization serving children and adults with developmental disabilities. She received her MSW and Ph.D. in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley. Dr. Taylor is also the proud mother of an 18-year-old with intellectual disability who recently developed a Supported Decision Making plan!
