Sister Angela Kim, PhD, LCSW-C is Professor in the School of Social Work of
Marywood University. As a researcher and a Fulbright scholar, her expertise and
research areas are international social work education and practice, minority study,
ethnic identity development among Hispanic, Korean American, and Bhutanese
immigrant/migrant/refugee children, adolescents and their families, and conducting
needs assessment for immigrant/migrant/refugees and developing empowerment
education and practice models of capacity building trainings. As a certified, licensed
clinical practitioner she worked for over twenty-five years with ethnically diverse minority
children, pregnant adolescents and abused children at various social service agencies
and school systems in the United States.
Sister Angela was the Chair of the Council on Global Learning and Practice in the
Council on Social Work Education. She also served as a member of the CSWE
Commission for Global Education. Currently, she serves as a member of the CSWE
Commission for Diversity and Social and Economic Justice.
