Dr. Kendra Flores-Carter is a Tenure Professor of Social Work at California Baptist University, a published author, and a researcher specializing in women’s and child health within the social and behavioral sciences. She currently serves as Co-Director of the Center for Community Engagement and Social Innovation (CESI), where she leads research and grant initiatives. Dr. Flores-Carter is also a member of the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Institutional Review Board and has published her research in various academic journals and books.
She is a pioneering member and a program director of the NAEBOR clinics in Rialto and Redlands, California—innovative maternal health clinics focused on improving outcomes for Black women. Her commitment to maternal mental health is evident in her leadership roles, including founding President of Postpartum Support International–California Chapter and former Co-Chair of the Inland Empire Maternal Mental Health Collaborative.
Dr. Flores-Carter currently serves on the San Bernardino County Maternal Health Network leadership team and led the countywide consumer survey in 2021 and 2024 in partnership. She also chairs the mental health committee on the City of Fontana Police Chief Roundtable Advisory Board, where she was instrumental in launching the COAST program and a social work internship initiative with CBU MSW students.
An active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the San Bernardino NAACP, Dr. Flores-Carter was appointed Co-Chair of the CSWE African Americans and the African Diaspora Track and serves on the CSWE Council on Racial Equity and Cultural Diversity.
