Lisa Johnson, MSW, PhD, is an associate professor in the School of Social Work at Salem State University. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Greensboro, a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a PhD from the University of Louisville. Prior to becoming a social work eductor, Dr. Johnson worked child welfare, healthcare, non-profit development, and community organizing. Her research and professional interests include child welfare; disability; diversity, equity, and social justice; social work education, workforce development, and leadership; and social work and the natural environment.
