Dr. Sherrill L. Sellers is an Associate Dean in the College of Education, Health, and Society and a Professor in the Department of Family Science and Social Work at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She also serves as an Adjunct Faculty Associate at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research. Her research explores how social inequalities influence mental and physical health across the life course. In addition, Dr. Sellers investigates how inequities are embedded in social institutions, aiming to make visible the often-overlooked mechanisms through which race and gender shape access, opportunity, and well-being. Her interdisciplinary approach draws from sociology, public health, and social work to advance understanding of structural inequities and support the development of more equitable policies and practices in health and education.
