Sharon Johnson, MSW, PhD, MPE

Dr. Sharon Johnson is professor and dean of the School of Social Work at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She has degrees in social work (BASW, MSW, PhD.) and psychiatric epidemiology (MPE). Her evaluation and community service efforts focus on strengthening social service programs to meet the needs of clients who are often low-income, racial or ethnic minorities. She has published research examining violence, HIV-risk, trauma exposure, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use disorders, religion and spirituality. She has continually served as a PI for HRSA funded Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) grants since 2014.
