Elizabeth Mukasa is a clinical social worker with extensive experience supporting refugee and immigrant communities in Kenya, Uganda, and the United States. She currently works in psychiatric residential settings, where she integrates her cross-cultural expertise to provide comprehensive mental health care.
She is passionate about practice-informed research and she seeks to advance the narrative around mental health for underserved and marginalized communities by studying the intersection of immigration, mental health, and policy.
Committed to lifelong learning and growth, she aspires to develop her skills as an educator, therapist, and social worker, ensuring that her work makes a meaningful impact in both clinical and academic spaces. She is a member of the Georgia Society of Clinical Social Work and facilitates training for clinicians practicing in Kenya.
Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Counselling Psychology from the University of Nairobi. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Baylor University and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry at McAfee School of Theology. Elizabeth enjoys hiking, traveling, and conversing with friends in her free time. She is pursuing her PhD in Social Work at the University of Georgia.
