Mr. Yigermal Demissie Ayalew, an educator and researcher, is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Work at Loyola University Chicago. Yigermal taught several courses at Jimma and Gondar Universities in Ethiopia, where he was a lecturer of social work. He has co-led multidisciplinary, multi-university research teams on research grants. He also worked as a policy analyst, curriculum developer, trainer, and program evaluator with various Ethiopian non-profits, consultants, and State Ministries. In these roles, his work focused on improving the programming, implementation, and evaluation capabilities of organizations involved in social protection, poverty reduction, and rights advocacy efforts. He is currently a teaching fellow and adjunct teaching Research and Evaluation at the School of Social Work. He is also a Research Associate and Instructor for an out-of-school youth program at the Empowering Counseling Program - Participatory Research Initiative Lab (ECP-PSI).
