Jennifer Greenfield is an Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver. Her research focuses on the economics of family care, especially within low- and middle-income households. Dr. Greenfield’s scholarship is focused on identifying, testing, and advocating for policies that best support families as they balance employment and caregiving. Policy topics such as paid family leave, minimum wage policy, and access to health insurance are a major focus of her work. Dr. Greenfield served as Associate Dean for Doctoral Education from 2020 through June 2025 and in that role, became deeply interested in learning how to better support neurodivergent students and colleagues. She is also passionate about promoting equity in access to PhD training and has studied the benefits of mentored training programs for PhD students. She also frequently writes and teaches about the role of public dissemination as a component of impactful scholarship in social work. Dr. Greenfield holds a PhD from Washington University in St. Louis, an MSW from Saint Louis University, and a BA in English from Albright College in Reading, PA.
