Marsha Montaño (she/ her/ Ella) is Teaching Faculty for the Social Work Department at MSU Denver. Her practice is grounded in anti-oppressive practices, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive approaches. Dr. Montaño’s work centers on empowering high-risk youth, children, and families, particularly within the Latino population, to overcome challenges such as emotional and behavioral difficulties, substance use, historical trauma, attendance barriers, and emotional regulation. She loves teaching a wide range of classes and growing the next generation of social workers.
