Dina Pilgrim, LMSW, is a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) candidate at the University at Buffalo School of Social Work and serves as the Interim Assistant Dean of Practicum Education and Clinical Associate Professor at Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare. Her work in higher education spans over 13 years, including liaising and adjunct teaching at Columbia University School of Social Work and LaGuardia Community College-Department of Health Sciences.
Prior to her work in higher education, Dina was the Director of Social Work at the Domestic Violence Project (DVP) at the Urban Justice Center, where she oversaw crisis counseling, safety planning, legal advocacy, and community training for survivors of intimate partner violence. She also has extensive experience in child welfare (preventive services and kinship foster care), early intervention, and forensic social work.
Dina’s current work and research focus on advancing accessibility and inclusive education in practicum education, executive functioning challenges for students, and the sustainable implementation of evidence-based practices.
