Dr. Emarely Rosa-Dávila is an Associate Professor of Social Work and the undergraduate program director for the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Woman’s University. She also holds appointments as Affiliate Faculty of Psychology and in the Woodcock Institute at Texas Woman’s University and is the Speaker for the Faculty Senate. She has over 20 years of experience as a practitioner in mental health, specializing in children and adolescents, as well as 16 years of experience in higher education. Her research focuses on mental health and culturally competent practices in the Hispanic-Latinx community living in the United States. Her work has appeared in the Journal of Mental Health and Social Behaviour, the Journal of Social Work in the Global Community, Voces del Trabajo Social, and Ámbito de Encuentros, among other publications.
Additionally, Dr. Rosa-Dávila is a fellow of the Executive Leadership Academy (Class 2021) at UC-Berkeley and a fellow of the New Leadership Academy (Class 2017) at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Puerto Rico, Humacao campus, a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) with specialization in Families with Children and Adolescents, and a Ph.D. in Social-Community Psychology, both from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus. She serves as the Speaker for the TWU Faculty Senate and also as a Commissioner for the CSWE Board of Accreditation.
