Assistant Dean for MSW Programs
Loyola University Chicago
My scholarly trajectory has evolved from improving clinical delivery for disenfranchised refugee children to conducting community-based research that addresses health and workforce disparities affecting vulnerable minorities. This includes developing measurement tools and adapting empirically supported treatments (ESTs), such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), to make them effective for individuals living in underserved urban neighborhoods. My research builds on my training and involvement in multi-level projects integrating neurobiology, clinical social work practice, metric development, and program evaluation. In teaching, I foster a transformative educational environment to reflect our collective commitment to equipping students to advocate for vulnerable populations and dismantle systematic oppression embedded in society.
