Obinna Casmir Odo is a dedicated scholar with a strong academic foundation in social work and gerontology. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and two master’s degrees: one in Gerontology from the University of Southampton, UK, and another in Social Work from the University of Stavanger, Norway, and the University of Gothenburg, Sweden and University Institute of Lisbon, Portugal. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Social Gerontology at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He is also a teaching and research assistant in the Department of Sociology and Gerontology, Miami University and assumed a full course instructor role recently.
Obinna’s research interests focus on long-term care for older adults, quality of care for people living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive health, health disparities, and equity in aging. His work aims to improve care outcomes and address inequalities in the field of aging.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Obinna serves as a reviewer for several esteemed journals, including the Journal of Evidence-Based Social Work, the Journal of Social Work in Developing Society, and the Journal of Poverty and Public Policy
