Lance Peterson is a professor of Social Work at the University of St. Thomas teaching in the MSW program. He teaches clinical social work methods courses, including a course on social work practice with families and couples, along with foundation and advanced research courses. His research interests include the developmental processes of students learning competencies for family and couple social service provision, best practices in social service work with families, and the intersection of faith and LGBTQ identity, particularly among members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his private practice, he provides therapy for individuals, couples and families as well as group supervision for aspiring Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers.
