Amy Pickett-Williams, LCSW, RYT, is a seasoned grief therapist, educator, and somatic practitioner with over 25 years of experience supporting individuals and families through loss. She specializes in working with those who have experienced the death of a child, infertility, cancer and life-threatening illnesses, injury, loss of identity, and relationship loss. Additionally, she provides compassionate support for postpartum women and individuals navigating anxiety and life transitions.
As a licensed clinical social worker and registered yoga teacher, Amy bridges the worlds of grief therapy and somatic healing, emphasizing the mind-body connection in grief recovery. She is the founder of The LIGHT Movement, an organization dedicated to bringing somatic-based tools to those grieving worldwide. Through LIGHT, she has reached over 5,000 individuals through trainings, workshops, retreats, and community programs. The LIGHT Movement integrates science-backed somatic healing approaches, including polyvagal theory, nervous system regulation, and breathwork, to help individuals process grief in a way that fosters meaning and growth.
Amy is passionate about educating professionals on the role of the body in grief, offering continuing education workshops for therapists, yoga teachers, social workers, and healthcare providers. She is currently developing trainings on grief and burnout to support those working in caregiving professions. Through her work, she continues to expand the understanding of grief, emphasizing that healing is not about moving on—but about growing with grief in an embodied, sustainable way.
