Exxon B. Susmerano is a Ph.D. student at the Arizona State University School of Social Work and an assistant professor at the College of Social Work and Community Development (CSWCD), University of the Philippines Diliman. He earned his Master of Arts in Public Management from the International University of Japan and his bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
Before joining CSWCD and pursuing his Ph.D. in Social Work at ASU, he worked for over ten years as a development worker in Philippine government agencies, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development (Policy Development and Planning Bureau) and the Department of Labor and Employment (Planning and Programming Division). He also volunteered as a facilitator for various non-governmental organizations in the Philippines.
His research interests include social work and spirituality, social welfare policies and programs, social work administration, and social work education.
