Racial disproportionality in Hawai‘i's child welfare system is a concern for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) population. An area for exploration is placement stability (PS), particularly within kinship care, which align with NHPI cultural values. This study examines financial factors and PS among NHPI children, focusing on kinship care.

Participants will develop an understanding of the unique needs of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) children in the foster care system.
Utilize data from the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) to examine the placement experiences and challenges faced by NHPI children in foster care.
Participants will be able to critically assess the financial support needs of families caring for NHPI children in foster care and explore how economic factors influence placement stability (PS).
