This presentation will describe and explore: 1) Details of the new medical aid in dying (MAID) law in New Mexico, including all necessary steps, qualifications, and protections, and 2) prospective roles for social workers in practice and advocacy, and 3) consideration of issues related to social justice and vulnerable populations.

Upon completion, participants will be able to describe prospective roles for social workers, in supporting patients who utilize MAID.
