This presentation provides a conceptual landscape of ACE research for majors in social work and the health professions, summarizing and comparing past and present investigations to date. In doing so, we highlight where ACE research is more robust and point out gaps that need further inquiry for interprofessional education.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
To present a composite profile of prevalence and types of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) among social work majors in the U.S.
To provide a descriptive comparison of ACE scores between majors in social work and the health professions. By examining these findings, we can gain valuable insights for each group's unique experiences and challenges, along with similarities between them.
To enhance interprofessional education by creating a more informed and compassionate learning environment that fosters resilience and success in students who have endured ACEs.
