The proposal presents a scoping literature review using Covidence software (a workflow platform designed to gather research summaries of scientific knowledge) to examine existing research on the intersection of mental health, substance abuse, trauma, and reentry for formerly incarcerated African Americans in the United States.

Upon completion, the participant will be able to identify existing literature on facilitators to successful reentry and recovery for formerly Incarcerated African Americans with co-occurring mental health, substance use disorder, and trauma.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to identify gaps in the existing literature on barriers and facilitators to successful reentry and recovery for formerly Incarcerated African Americans with co-occurring mental health, SUD, and trauma and understand the need for more research in this area specifically for this population.
