Given recent policy shifts, workshop participants will identify how they can engage in local, state/provincial, and national advocacy to build support for more robust, sustained access to healthcare and social supports for forced migrants living with disabilities and chronic health conditions in the United States and Canada.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:

Analyze key barriers to appropriate care for forced migrants living with disabilities or other chronic health conditions in the United States and Canada.
Develop strategies that social work students and practitioners can employ to foster well-being for forced migrants living with disabilities or other chronic health conditions.
Determine promising approaches to strengthen social work curricula to prepare social work students for advocacy and trauma-informed care with forced migrants.
