Common debilitating health conditions as people age include hearing and vision loss, diabetes, depression, and dementia. With these challenges comes grieving the loss of independence, along with facing discrimination. This presentation discusses disability that often accompanies aging, and how social workers can advocate for clients’ dignity, worth, and self-determination.
