The Role of Resilience in Social Services during the Covid-19 Pandemic

This article explores the concept of resilience as an important factor for understanding the mental health outcomes for social service providers engaged in direct client service provision during the COVID19 pandemic. In this qualitative, grounded theory study, 20 semi-structured interviews were conducted with providers throughout the western-United States.

Upon completion, the participant will be able to define resilience and articulate the importance of resilience in social service provide well-being.
Upon completion, the participant will understand the four resilience factors identified in this study and the ways in which they can support or inhibit social service providers overall mental health and well-being.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to identify potential agency-level policy changes or applications that can enhance social service provider well-being.
