Assistant Professor University of Kentucky, College of Social Work
This presentation examines the implications of resource adjustments ("pull-backs") on research productivity expectations for social work faculty in research and title series positions (e.g., DOE). It will guide faculty and administrators in navigating these direct and indirect changes and their effects on established standards such as research and service.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
To examine the emotional, physical, professional, and personal impacts that underrepresented, historically excluded, and minoritized faculty experience in academic settings, particularly within social work education.
To explore the utilization of a Professional Impact Statement as a tool for conveying these experiences and their implications for research productivity expectations.
To offer strategies for incorporating this approach into faculty evaluation and professional development processes.
