This proposal aims to engage young voters at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) by increasing awareness of disability rights. Through targeted initiatives, we seek to empower students to advocate for social, economic, and environmental justice, promoting inclusivity, equity, and active civic participation in the African American community.

Upon completion, the participant will be able to demonstrate strategies for engaging young voters at HBCUs and describe the intersectionality between disability rights and broader social justice issues in order to empower students to advocate for inclusive policies and systemic change.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to understand the barriers to voter participation and develop effective strategies to increase voter engagement and awareness of disability rights among minority students at HBCUs.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to explain social justice pedagogical approaches and theoretical frameworks related to disability rights within the context of social, economic, and environmental justice, and design initiatives that foster an inclusive political environment on HBCU campuses.
