Using techniques of a scoping review, this study examines the intersection of food insecurity and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The study’s findings have important implications for practice, policy, and research, particularly concerning health disparities among people with IDD. Strategies for mitigating food insecurity are offered.

Participants will be able to describe the prevalence, consequences, and risk and protective factors for food insecurity unique to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (PWIDD).
Participants will be able to identify targeted interventions at the individual, community, and policy levels to mitigate food insecurity among PWIDD and their families.
Participants will be able to discuss the implications for future research on food insecurity among PWIDD.
