Using an intersectionality theory lens, this research explores the convergence of Blackness and ADHD, resulting in compounded challenges at the educational, social, and psychological levels. Interviews with 25 participants highlight stigma, systemic bias, and limited support and call for re-evaluation of policies to address the needs of this marginalized demographic.

Upon completion, the participant will be able to examine how stigma, systemic bias and barriers to access in education and healthcare have compounded the experience of ADHD for Black individuals.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to investigate how the interplay between Blackness and ADHD impacts identity construction for participants, drawing attention to how these varied identities challenge dominant paradigms of understanding race and disability.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to document the adaptive strategies and forms of activism understood and employed by participants in navigating these dimensions of their lives, serving to enact empowerment and resistance against hegemonic practices.
