This content analysis of LGBTQ+ practice course syllabi found inconsistent and sometimes harmful approaches to social work education, including deficit-based content, outdated readings, and limited application of intersectionality. To better prepare practitioners, curricula must integrate applied learning and practice skills, aligning with social work’s commitment to inclusion and justice.
