Mentorship Through a Virtual Writing Group: A Model for Supportive Scholarship

This virtual writing group has supported women in writing meaningful scholarship through shared and inclusive mentoring during difficult times. Grounded in relational cultural theory and using group work skills, the panel will discuss the process of providing a safe, supportive, and productive space for diverse women scholars

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. Participants will understand the importance of relational cultural theory in the context of equitable support for social work scholarship production
  2. Participants will be able to apply concepts to developing their own supportive scholarship groups
  3. Participants will learn the process of providing a safe and productive space of mutual mentoring for a writing group of diverse women
