In this mixed methods study, a survey was conducted to learn about how people identify with their military service, and what influences their identity. The survey asked participants about how their service impacted their military and personal identities and how connection with their service has changed over time.

Upon completion, the participant will be able to list the various ways military service can impact an individual’s identity and describe the role that military service plays in one’s overall life
Upon completion, the participant will be able to recognize the varying impact that military service, experience, and identity have on military-involved, Veteran, and/or military family client systems in social work education and practice
Upon completion, the participant will be able to explore the complex nature of how military service can present with strengths and/or challenges in the treatment relationship
