Session: Interprofessional Education to address behavioral health needs

MSW Program Evaluation of Interprofessional Education & Youth Behavioral Health Needs

This presentation details a program evaluation’s impact assessment of interprofessional education for MSW students focusing on youth and young adult behavioral health. The program included an intensive January course with interprofessional lecturers. Learning was measured pre- and post-program using the Interprofessional Collaborative Competencies Attainment Survey, showing increases in all competencies.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. Upon completion, the participant will be able to discuss the impactful evaluation of interprofessional education upon students’ self-reported interprofessional competencies.
  2. Upon completion, the participant will be able to assess how social work programs can effectively design short and intensive courses to maximize students’ learning opportunities.
  3. Upon completion, the participant will be able to appraise how to integrate content associated with social work practice working with vulnerable populations into course content.
