Advancing Disability Justice in Social Work Education Through HyFlex Learning

This interactive workshop examines how HyFlex learning advances disability justice in social work education by fostering accessibility, flexibility, and inclusion. Participants will explore Universal Design for Learning (UDL), equitable teaching strategies, and insights from a HyFlex course, gaining practical tools to integrate HyFlex into their curricula while dismantling ableist barriers.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. Upon completion, the participant will be able to explore the core principles of HyFlex learning and its alignment with disability justice, emphasizing intersectionality, interdependence, and collective access.
  2. Upon completion, the participant will be able to collaborate to identify strategies for using HyFlex to increase accessibility, enhance student engagement, and promote belonging for disabled students in social work programs.
  3. Upon completion, the participant will be able to develop actionable strategies for integrating HyFlex within social work curricula, focusing on accessibility, flexibility, and Universal Design for Learning principles.
