An Exploration of Geographic Access to Substance Use Treatment Programs and Violence Against Women

This study assessed: 1) the relationship between geographic access to Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) certified drug and alcohol treatment programs and VAW risk and 2) the relationship between geographic access to SAMSHA certified drug and alcohol treatment programs and types of VAW risk.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. Upon completion, participants will be able to describe the relationship between geographic access to Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) certified drug and alcohol treatment programs and VAW risk.
  2. Upon completions, participants will be able to describe the relationship between geographic access to SAMSHA certified drug and alcohol treatment programs and types of VAW risk.
  3. Upon completion, participants will have increased knowledge in how policies and programs to increase access to substance use treatment should be explored and evaluated to decrease VAW.
