Familial support for gender-diverse youth is understood to significantly impact the youths’ well-being, but little research has examined the differential impacts of youths’ and caregivers’ perceptions of the caregivers’ support. This research examined associations between youths’ and caregivers’ perceptions of two components of caregiver support and the youths’ depressive symptomology.

Upon completion, the participant will be able to the relationships between GDYs’ and their caregivers’ perceptions of the caregivers’ support and the youths’ depressive symptomology
Upon completion, the participant will understand the importance of GDYs’ perceptions of their father’s gender identity acceptance for the youths’ level of depressive symptomology
Upon completion, the participant will recognize the importance of increasing GDYs’ perceptions of their caregivers’ support as a means of promoting the youths’ emotional well-being
