Breaking Barriers of Blindness: A Case Study Documenting Learned Strategies Supporting a Graduate Student

This case study will report learned strategies in supporting a self-identified blind student in a MSW program. This study will synthesize reports from five faculty member’s experience in the provision of visually impaired-tailored strategies in supporting the student in the classroom, with assignments and at their field setting.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe one barrier experienced by a graduate student in an MSW program who is blind
  2. Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe one teaching strategy to support a graduate student in an MSW program who is blind
  3. Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe one strategy to support a graduate student in practicum/field for an MSW program who is blind
