The 2-4-8 intervention supports college students with disabilities (SWD), as federally-mandated accommodations are often insufficient alone. A quasi-experimental evaluation of the intervention revealed a significant increase in college learning skills while controlling for select factors, indicating both policy and practice implications for social work and support staff in higher education.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
Understand the support needed by college students with disabilities, regardless of diagnosis.
Describe how the 2-4-8 intervention provides individualized support for college students with disabilities.
Apply the findings from the evaluation of the 2-4-8 intervention to the audience's individual context so they are able to better support college students with disabilities at their university.
